Curcuma xanthorrhiza or Temulawak belongs to the Zingiberaceae family and is a native plant of Indonesia. Temulawak has been known as a key ingredient in traditional medicine for centuries and is one of the most widely used herbs in Indonesia traditional herbal medicine "Jamu". Temulawak is considered a National icon and valued as "Indonesian Gingseng".
Numerous pharmacological studies have been done over the last 50 years. the founders of Phytochemindo started their research in 1977 by investigating Curcuma xanthorrhiza and Curcuma domestica. Phytochemindo has successfully isolated and extracted the two main active components Curcuminoid and Xanthorrhizol from the plant.
